A massive battery storage facility that at 360MW is claimed to be the largest planned in Europe so far has been earmarked for northeast England by Singapore-based Sembcorp.
Sembcorp Energy UK plans to build the battery array on Teesside, where it is already involved in advancing a ‘net zero’ 300MW gas-fired power station linked to carbon capture and storage (CCS).
