Spain has started laying the ground for a 3.3GW renewable energy tender in October this year, including a 600MW batch for fast-track wind and solar projects needed to help to lower the country’s power prices that have surged amid a heatwave.

The ecological transition ministry said projects from the 600MW quota need to be operational within eight months after winning the auction.
