Power giant China Three Gorges (CTG) made a significant move into Middle East and North Africa green power with the acquisition of Alcazar Energy, a renewables developer founded by former GE and Masdar executives as recently as 2014.

Alcazar – which operates 411MW of wind and solar in Jordan and Egypt – was acquired on undisclosed terms by a consortium led by CSAIL, a subsidiary of CTG set up to facilitate renewable investments.
