New nuclear technology linked with energy storage that is claimed to be the only option for 24/7 power supply in conjunction with wind and solar will make its debut in Wyoming, with the backing of billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

Gates-chaired nuclear specialist TerraPower will choose a retiring coal power run by utility Rocky Mountain Power, part of Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway group, to demonstrate its Natrium small-scale nuclear technology with molten salt thermal energy storage.
