South Korea’s Hanwha Solutions will make a decisive step into wind power after its global renewable energy business agreed to buy a 5GW project pipeline in France.

Hanwha’s Q Cells arm has struck an agreement to buy 100% of RES Méditerranée from UK-based global developer RES Group, which has started the required consultation process in France, said a statement. Reports in South Korea said the deal is worth €727m ($855m).
