Amazon could tap offshore wind power for its datacentres in Japan as the online shopping behemoth seeks renewable supply option in the Asian nation, reports from Tokyo said.

An unnamed Japanese trading house is in talks with Amazon over potential supply deals if it is successful in offshore wind tenders underway by the government there, according to Nikkei.

Amazon is in discussions with trading houses and utilities over exclusive deals for long-term procurement of renewable power, with solar also on the agenda, the financial news outlet claimed.
