he German wind sector is jubilant. Close to 1,000 wind turbines were grid-connected in Germany in the first half of 2017 on land and at sea, and the indications are that the year as a whole ended with record installations.

That means Germany again has proved to be the driving force for wind energy in Europe. Almost half of the capacity that was built on the Old Continent during the first half of 2017 was grid-connected in Germany.
