The company expects to complete the project by the end of 2012. Construction will employ 200 people in an area with exceptionally high unemployment. Once the plant is operational, 20 jobs will be created directly and another 50 will be employed in hauling the biomass.
The Lakeview plant would be fuelled by debris from logging in nearby forests that are vulnerable to fire, having suffered insect damage and disease, plus residual materials from an adjacent sawmill.
