Helius sold the consented project to RWE Innogy in late 2008 for £28.1m ($44.3m). Total construction costs at the Lincolnshire plant are expected to top £200m.
Under the terms of the deal, Helius was also to receive 13% of after-tax profits for the first 24 years of the plant’s commercial life – originally valued at £14.2m.
Due to delays and currency fluctuations, that value was subsequently lowered to £12.3m.
