Earlier this year Dong began touting plans for the wood chip-burning facility, which would have been built over an 80,000 sq m site owned by Associated British Ports at Queen Elizabeth Dock.
"The decision to withdraw from the Humber Renewables project is based purely on wider strategic considerations,” the company says.
"The company has taken the decision to focus on core activities such as gas-fired power stations and offshore wind developments.
