The company, which is also applying its enzyme development technology in the pharmaceutical industry, filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, laying the groundwork for a possible public offering.
It marks the second clean-tech company to file for an IPO in recent weeks. Solyndra, a venture-funded manufacturer of cylindrical thin-film photovoltaic modules, filed for an IPO that could raise up to $300m on 18 December.
