At an average wind speed of 7.5 meters per (nearly 17 miles per hour), the SWT-2.3-120 yields nearly 10% higher annual energy production compared to that of its predecessor turbine under the same conditions, according to the vendor.
The SWT-2.3-120 turbine utilizes Siemens’ robust and flexible aeroelastic tailored blade design to reduce weights and loads through what it says is “intelligent use” of the blade’s flexing capabilities.
