Wind farms took the cake with 754MW worth of projects, followed by 110MW of thermal energy from biofuels; 20MW of solar photovoltaic power; and 11MW of small hydro, Recharge has learned.
A total of 22 companies with 51 projects scattered across the country were approved.
The government had also been seeking biomass and geothermal bids, but received none that could meet its requirements.
