First Solar in 23MW New Mexico win

The follow-on order deepens First Solar’s relationship with PublicService Company of New Mexico (PNM), which is the state’s largest electricalutility, and – despite its name – a private company.

First Solar has already built five PV plants for PNM and,with more coming on line this year and next, will have handed over 67MW ofcapacity by the end of 2014.

Last month First Solar nabbed a power-purchase agreementfrom the New Mexico Public Regulatory Commission, clearing the way for it tobuild the largest solar plant in the state – the 50MW Macho Springs array.
