The transaction will result in Dow Corning becoming full owner of Hemlock Semiconductor LLC and raise its stake to 80.5% in Hemlock Semiconductor Corp. Japan’s Shin-Etsu Handotai is the minority shareholder.
In a statement, Dow Corning says that the acquisition enables it to generate additional earnings and cash-flow through greater ownership in the companies.
Dow Corning says it also agreed in the coming weeks to purchase up to the entirety of Mitsubishi’s 12.25%
