The commission, in a unanimous vote, agreed with a siting committee’s assessment that the 250MW Abengoa Solar Mojave Project “as mitigated, will have no significant impacts on the environment and complies with applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and standards”.

The approval clears the way for the parabolic trough project to begin construction in the fourth quarter. It is proposed on 7.14sq km of private land, previously used for agricultre, in the Mojave Desert about 160km northeast of Los Angeles.
