Since its founding in 2009, the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) has worked swiftly to establish an internationally recognised series of safety training standards. Its original imperative to respond to the needs of the wind sector continues to be reflected today, as the organisation strives to adapt to industry development. Increasingly, those efforts involve expanding beyond Europe, to the US and China – where Jakob Holst, veteran of the Danish wind industry and now CEO of GWO, says safety is just as important to successful wind operations as in Europe.
