A comprehensive federal renewable energy standard (RES) would provide a critical tool to help America fight climate change next decade, according to the American Council on Renewable Energy (Acore).

A new white paper produced with law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, advocates that Congress enacts a “high-penetration” RES – defined as a federal law that requires a high percentage of renewable energy, generally, over 50%, in a distribution/utility company’s electricity sales or purchases or generating capacity.
