Two US solar developers – Shell-controlled Silicon Ranch and Strata Solar – have won contracts to build more than 200MW for a utility in Georgia that will provide 100% of the power for Facebook’s new data centre in the state.
Silicon Ranch will build a 102.5MW solar plant for Walton EMC, a small customer-owned utility in Georgia, while Strata will build two arrays totaling 100MW.
