A first nine out of 180 Siemens Gamesa blades to be installed at Ocean Winds’ 882MW Moray West wind project in Scotland were loaded onto a transporter vessel.
With 108 metres, each blade produced at its factory in Hull, England, is “longer than the pitch at Wembley Stadium”, the manufacturer said, and is specially built to perform under rough North Sea offshore conditions.
