Issued onWednesday, the report done by independent consulting firm Economic Impact Groupalso estimates that the state’s 26 active wind farms will further contribute$1.8bn in economic activity during their initial 20-year power off-takeagreements.

About 4,000workers are employed by the industry in Oklahoma which includes manufacturingand support industries, according to the American Wind Energy Association. Windfarms pay about $43m annually in property taxes and more than $22m tolandowners.
