Davey says that most green levies in the UK are funding social programmes to tackle fuel poverty, rather than being used to develop green energy sources, such as wind farms.
He questions the promise made by opposition Labour Party leader Ed Miliband to freeze UK energy bills for 20 months if he wins the next general election, because “the costs that make up more than half an energy bill are beyond his control”.
