First West of Duddon turbine in

The first turbine has been installed at the 389MW West of Duddon Sands wind farm off northwest England.

The Irish Sea wind farm will use 108 Siemens 3.6MW machines, with completion scheduled for next year.

Iberdrola’s UK subsidiary ScottishPower Renewables is developing the project in partnership with Denmark's Dong Energy.

The work is being carried out by Swire Blue Ocean’s Pacific Orca and the A2SEA-owned Sea Installer.

Components are being shipped from the project's pre-assembly facility in Belfast.
