The 270MW Lincs wind farm off eastern England was fully commissioned yesterday, said UK utility Centrica.

The project – a joint venture between Centrica, Denmark’s Dong Energy and Siemens – had been under construction since March 2010.

The wind farm uses 75 3.6MW Siemens wind turbines, the last of which was installed in March this year.

Lincs was given a high-profile official opening by UK Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg in early August, despite having 20 turbines remaining to be commissioned.
