Teesside is using Siemens turbines

EDF Energy Renewables says the first power is flowing to the UK grid from its Teesside offshore wind farm.

Three of the 27 Siemens 2.3MW turbines are now connected and operating at the project site off northeast England, says the French-owned developer.

18 turbines have so far been installed by the MPI Adventure jack-up vessel operating out of the nearby port of Hartlepool.

The 62MW wind farm is due to be fully up and running by the end of June.
