OMM
blamed
delays
to
key
projects
–
“especially
in
the
renewables
sector”
–
for
its
decision,
claiming
that
the
cabling
sector’s
near-term
prospects
are
“in
disarray”.
Germany’s
well-documented
offshore
wind
problems
may
be
at
the
heart
of
OMM’s
decision.
In
November
2011
the
company
won
a
four-year
contract
with
TenneT
to
provide
project
management,
consultancy
and
other
services
for
its
offshore
transmission
programme
in
the
German
North
Sea.
TenneT’s
inability
to
deliver
those
projects
on
time
has
led
to
damaging
delays
and
cost
overruns
throughout
Germany’s
nascent
offshore
wind
sector.
