Danish developer Dong has called on France’s Nexans to supply medium-voltage submarine cables for its Westermost Rough offshore wind farm in the UK.

Nexans will deliver and assemble 53km of cables for Dong at the 210MW project off northeast England, interconnecting the Siemens 6MW turbines and the wind farm’s transmission platform.

Delivery is scheduled to begin this spring.

Dong made a final investment decision on Westermost Rough in January.

The Nexans deal is part of an up-to-900km of cable framework agreement the Paris-based group signed with Dong in 2011.
