US billionaire Donald Trump claims he is ready to bog down in legal proceedings a wind turbine testing centre proposed in Aberdeen Bay, some 2.4km offshore from his new luxury golf course.

In a weekend interview with the Financial Times the US tycoon warns that should the wind project be approved, he would “bring a lawsuit” which would have  it tied up for many years in court, without specifying the grounds for such action.

Scottish authorities are currently considering the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC), a joint venture between utility Vattenfall, private-public partnership Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group, and contractor Technip Offshore Wind.
