The monopiles, being fabricated by EEW at its Rostockyard, and transition pieces, being supplied out of Bladt’s Aalbord facility,will support as many as 130 3.6MW machines, ordered in a lot in December fromSiemens along with a transformer platform.

Production of the foundations parts, which will beshipped to Cape Wind’s as-yet-undecided staging post, is slated to start inJanuary 2015.

“We will contribute with our expertise within thefield and we know that our many years of experience will be valuable for thisproject,” says Bladt division manager Morten Mørk, noting that the twocompanies have manufactured foundations for offshore wind farms “all acrossEurope”.

Together
