CT Offshore wins Borkum cabling
Subsea cabling specialist CT Offshore has been hired by Dong Energy to carry out installation and burial work at the Borkum Riffgrund 1 wind farm in German waters.
The company’s installation vessel SIA and two support ships will handle the inter-array cables at the 277MW project, 37km north of the island of Borkum.
The cabling is expected to start in mid-June and be complete by the end of August, with operations conducted out of Borkum, Nordenham and Eemshaven.
Denmark-based CT Offshore has found work at other major European wind projects such as West of Duddon Sands and Gwynt y Mor in the UK.
Foundation installation at Borkum Riffgrund 1 began last month, with commissioning of the wind farm due next year.
