The power andautomation group will design and supply two 132-kV AC cables, each of 42km, running from the wind farm’s offshore substation toWeybourne Hope, near Sheringham, Norfolk.
The cables –amongthe longest yet ordered for a UK offshore wind project – will be manufacturedat ABB’s factory in Karlskrona, Sweden, with delivery starting in 2016.
Dudgeon is a joint projectby Norwegian partners Statoil and Statkraft, who have already worked togetheron the nearby Sheringham Shoal wind farm.
