SHL gets Dudgeon foundation nod
Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL) has been handed the foundation installation contract for the 400MW Dudgeon offshore wind project in UK waters.
SHL will transport and install 67 foundations and one substation at the project off eastern England.
The offshore specialist has previously worked on the nearby Sheringham Shoal offshore project – like Dudgeon, developed as a joint venture between Norwegian partners Statoil and Statkraft.
SHL's vessels Stanislav Yudin and Oleg Strashnov have also performed work at a variety of other high-profile offshore wind projects in recent years, including Gwynt y Mor, Riffgat and Borkum West 2.
SHL expects to start installation work between March and May 2015, with completion in August that year.
Dudgeon will use Siemens 6MW turbines and is expected to become fully operational during 2017.
