Under a $40m deal with transmission system operator Energinet.dk, the contractor will deliver a 32km long 220kV three-core alternating-current cable with integrated fiber-opticsfor data communications for the North Sea project, being developed by theDanish Energy Agency.

“ABB has the portfolio, technical know-how, domainknowledge, project management capability and experience to execute suchprojects,” says ABB’s head of Power Systems Claudio Facchin.

Delivery of the cable, from ABB’s high-voltage cablefactory in Karlskrona, Sweden, is slated for 2016.

Once
