Gamesa claimed the turbine, with a blade length of 64.5 metres and a rotor diameter of 132 metres, is a “milestone” in its offshore strategy, building on the recent DNV-GL type certification of its G128-5.0 MW – and generating 3% more power.
According to the manufacturer: “It is designed with redundant modules, guaranteeing reliable performance and maximising energy output, thereby streamlining the cost of energy.”
