The 10,200-tonne platform on Saturday left Heerema Fabrication Group’s yard in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands, for final fabrication work at Schiedam.
It will then sail to its site off Helgoland to be mated with the Helwin Beta jacket in August.
The Helwin Beta transformer station – one of the 10 "hub" projects designed by transmission system operator TenneT to streamline the transport of offshore wind power onto the German grid – is the third connection in the eastern North Sea.
