The nacelle test facility is being built byLindoe Offshore Renewable Centre (LORC) withcooperation from industry heavyweights Vestas, Siemens and Dong.
Thetwin-berth facility will be able to carry out different tests on a nacellesimultaneously and simulate the performance of a turbine as part of an array.
“Over a period of six months we cancarry out stress tests on the nacelle equal to 25 years of operation,” claims aLORC spokesperson.
