Company officials have given apresentation to Cumbria County Council’s committee for Barrow-in-Furnesson the benefits to the local economy of the project.
The proposed 750MW extension wouldadd up to 120 additional turbines and provide power for up to 559,000 homes. Ifaccepted by the UK’sPlanning Inspectorate, the 144 sq km extension could be in operation by March2018.
The Walney wind farm, comprisingWalney 1 and 2, is located some 15km off the coast of northwest England in the Irish Sea.
