The 288MW Baltic 2 – set to become the second offshore wind farm in Germany’s Baltic Sea – will incorporate 80 Siemens turbines, which will rest atop both monopile and jacket foundations.
Ballast Nedam will oversee installation of the 39 monopiles and their transition pieces – among the heaviest ever used at an offshore wind farm – while providing logistics between the feeder ports of Rostock and Lubmin.
