The Siemens 2.3MW turbines, some 1.5km offRedcar’s coast by the French-owned developer, have been installed by thejack-up MPI Adventure operating out of the nearby port of Hartlepool.
The turbines will be turned on throughout this summer,after further technical work and testing has been carried out.
Seabed cablestransmit the power to a newly constructed substation at Warrenby, near Redcar,before connecting into the grid at nearby Lackenby.
