The German utility said thelast of 18 6.15MW REpower turbines needed to complete the third and final phasewent in yesterday.

Thornton Bank, 30km off theBelgian coast, is being developed by the C-Power consortium at a total projectcost of €1.3bn ($1.7bn).

RWE is the biggestshareholder in the project. Other partners include EDF Energies Nouvellesand Belgian offshore specialist DEME.

The first 30MW “pilot” phase,comprising six REpower 5MW turbines, has been operational since 2009.
