The agreement is for the 500MW Baltic Eagle wind farm and the 250MW Ostseeschatz (Baltic Sea Treasure) project, both located some 30km off the German island of Rügen.
Areva under the deal would provide around 130 of its 5MW M5000-135 turbines, Windreich CEO Willi Balz told Recharge today, adding that some of the turbines delivered may have a bigger capacity. Areva has previously said that it will unveil plans for a larger offshore turbine later this year.
