Following commissioning of the £47m ($73.4m) GE-supplied rig, the S7.0-171 nacelle, built around a geared David Brown drive-train, will be put through its paces under extreme climatic conditions, including simulated gusts of up to 240km per hour.

"Delivery of Samsung’s nacelle as it brings us closer to seeing the next-generation technology becoming a reality," says Narec chief executive Andrew Mill.
