Based on the cost ofGerman offshore plants already being built, the five wind farms would requirean investments of roughly €6bn ($8bn), the industry official said.
The spending would be a majorboost for Germany’s fledgling offshore wind industry, which currently has some2GW in offshore projects under construction – but is in dire need of follow-upprojects to avoid the closure of manufacturing facilities.
