The 9,300-tonne topsides of theplatform will convertalternating current (AC) output from a trio of wind farms in the German Bight,starting with the 400MW Borkum West development, before stepping up thevoltage from 155kV to 320kV and sendingthe electricity as direct current (DC) into the country’s grid.
