Contractor Graham Construction installed the steel jacket, fabricated by Steel Engineering, in shallow waters around 50 metres off the Fife Energy Park in Methil.
The turbine’s transition piece, which will connect the foundation to the tower, is now being carried out by a team of welders working around the clock.
SHI is erecting the S7.0-171, which features a 171.2-metre-diameter rotor powering a DB Wind supplied transmission system, backed by over £6m of funding from development body Scottish Enterprise.
