The utility sent the document, $1.6m lease payment and a surety bond to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), an agency in the US Interior Department that oversees most renewable energy activities in federal waters.
The deadline was Monday – 10 business days after receiving the lease paperwork from BOEM.
