The Haliade 150 – the largest turbine yet deployed at sea –is in place at the Belwind offshore wind site off Ostend.
Alstom has been carrying out trials on its first 6MW prototypein Le Carnet, France, since March 2012.
Once commissioned the Belgian turbine – installed this weekend afterseveral reschedulings – will allow the French group to put the machine through itspaces in an offshore environment.
