Ballast Nedam gets Amrumbank work

Construction group Ballast Nedam has signed a contract with E.ON for the installation of monopile foundations at the 288MW Amrumbank West offshore wind farm, in the German North Sea.

Ballast Nedam will erect monopiles and manage the logistics between the feeder port in Cuxhaven and the wind farm.

Ballast Nedam will use its Heavy Lift Vessel Svanen to install the monopiles. They have diameters of six metres and weigh up to 800 tonnes.

The installation works are planned to start in the middle of this month.
