The US government has shaken up the list of offshore wind developers eligible for up to $40m each to fund demonstration projects, with projects backed by LEEDCo and the University of Maine replacing others backed by Dominion Resources and Principle Power.
South Korea’s first commercial offshore wind farm will be installed off the southern island of Jeju by the end of this year, kick-starting a new market with an official government target of 2.5GW by 2019.
