Fred Olsen Renewables’ long-brewing acquisition of the Icebreaker US offshore wind project is “going to happen”, says the Lake Erie Energy Development Co. (LEEDCo), which also confirmed MHI Vestas as the “preferred supplier” for its 20.7MW project off the coast of Cleveland, Ohio.
Deepwater Wind has opened an office in New Bedford, Massachusetts, as it accelerates pre-development work on its ONE project that could supply up to 400MW capacity to the state should the developer win a competitive tender to be held in 2017.
