Vestas has appointed Christian Venderby to head the new stand-alone service division the wind group is creating.
Venderby – currently
senior vice-president, operations, at Vestas Americas – takes up his new post
as group senior vice-president, service on 1 June. He also joins the Vestas
Venderby will lead
the new service organisation announced by Vestas CEO Anders Runevad when the Danish
group presented its full-year results in February.
Runevad said then that
he wants to grow Vestas’ service business by more than 30%.
Venderby’s business will
set out to maximise service contracts on new turbine orders and “to increase
the current service contract renewal rate by developing higher value service
offerings”, said the company today.
Venderby, a Dane, joined
Vestas in 2006 as North America finance chief and took up his current role in
North America in 2010.
Before joining the turbine
producer he spent more than 15 years with engineering group FLSmidth.
Runevad said of
Venderby: “Based on his experience, commitment and extensive accomplishments
during his career, he is well qualified to build on Vestas’ existing service
business achievements and we look forward to the many contributions he will
bring to this vital business area, which is an important part of our new
strategy, Profitable Growth for Vestas.”
